A tooth abscess is made up of pus that is inclosed by jaw bone tissue near the bottom that is infected. In most cases the abscess comes from a bacteria infection that formed in the soft pulp of the one in question. Usually pain is a factor and ranges from a dull pain, to throbbing and intolerable pain.
A tooth abscess usually comes from dead dental pulp tissues, and is common when decay or cracks are left untreated. A root canal treatment that wasn't performed correctly can cause similar abscesses as well.
You will experience a lot of mouth pain during this. Don't expect your gums to get better very quickly even after treatment
The most common symptom, or complication is a toothache which almost always occurs. Putting pressure on an abscess tooth or exposing it to heat may be extremely painful.
Amoxicillin is a common antibiotic prescribed for treatment. There are others used as well, but Amoxicillin tends to work the best for treating the infection, and that's the only way to cure an abscessed teeth.
An untreated case that is severe enough can become big enough to perforate your jaw bone and continue into the softer tissue below. Once inside it can continue to infect your entire body and even spread into your brain.
Drainage may occur when a boil bursts and allows the pus to drain from the tooth abscess. Sometimes this can alleviate the pain, but it doesn't cure the infected area.
Pain in the gums and all around that area of the mouth is common. It is recommended that you see a dentist immediately. If you don't get treatment right away, you're sure to experience complications
If multiple teeth are affected, you will need treatment even sooner.
Sometimes they're called absess. Absess tooth is a common search term, but Absess is not correct.
